Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of Next Steps (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms on behalf of your church or organization.

The Service

Next Steps provides engagement analytics and follow-up tooling that connects to Planning Center and other systems you authorize. We may improve, change, or add features over time. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes that reduce core functionality.

Accounts & eligibility

• You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for the access you grant to team members and integrations.
• You must have authority to connect the Planning Center and other accounts you link.

Subscriptions, trials & billing

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor (Stripe). The price and billing interval are shown at checkout.
• Free trials, where offered, convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals.
• Founder pricing, where offered, remains in effect for as long as your subscription stays continuously active, subject to the terms presented at signup.
• Unless required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. If you cancel, you keep access through the end of the current billing period.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others.
• Send messages through connected channels in violation of applicable messaging laws (including consent and opt-out requirements).
• Attempt to breach security, access other tenants’ data, or disrupt the Service.
• Reverse engineer or resell the Service except as permitted by law.

Your data

You retain ownership of your church and member data. You grant us the rights needed to process it to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions for the data you connect.

Third-party integrations

The Service relies on third parties (e.g. Planning Center, Google, Clearstream, Stripe). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or actions.

Availability & warranties

We work hard to keep the Service reliable, but it is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Next Steps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, or as required by law. On termination, the data-handling described in our Privacy Policy applies.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product and business evolve. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date and notify account admins of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
